This is the one book that anybody with a bike needs. It covers all aspects of bike mechanics from the simplest, like choice of tools, to more complex, like working on the power train. There is a lot of practical advice about dealing with problems on the road such as straightening the front end after a collision, to replacing broken spokes.
The writing style, and clear illustrations, make it easy to read.
Anybody’s Bike Book is the book you’ll want if you want a straight fixit manual that is low-priced and low-key.
Cuthbertson gives you a list of tools to buy, then provides understanding and understandable step-by-step procedures for maintenance and for simple repair jobs. Cartoon-like drawings are clear and helpful.
Perhaps not as detailed as Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance or any of the other, now famous, Zinn books but it is illustrated with fun, funky and extremely helpful drawings that describe how to troubleshoot when out on the trail.
